THREE: Mental health - focus on you! This goes deeper than just dealing with stress. There are so many demands on us over the holidays. Take this time for YOU. Be selfish. Even for just a few minutes each day.  Claim it. Own it. This is YOUR time. You need this so you can be the best you for them.  

 

FOUR: Keep to routine - even if it’s reduced. Stopping entirely will make getting back to it so much harder after the holidays are over. So just don’t give up. Change your workouts up so they can work with your holiday schedule. But keep moving. Stay active. Keep up the routine and you will be so far ahead come January 1!

 

FIVE: Here’s a BONUS point for you - we’re getting ready to have SO MUCH FUN in our 12 days of FITMAS group.  We’re posting DAILY workouts (quick & simple workouts that anyone, anywhere, can do - with no equipment). We start on Monday!

ONE: This one is pretty obvious, but I wanted to put it out there.  Calories IN vs Calories OUT. We’re all doing a bit of extra eating right now, right?? Workouts help us burn calories. Even if it’s just 15-20 mins a day - it makes a tremendous difference. Don’t stop moving now. We need extra calorie burn more than ever.

 

TWO: Beat the holiday stress. Wait - there’s stress over the holidays?? YES - SO much!!! It feels like everyone needs us for something right now. Work is busy with year end deadlines. Preparing for family and all the guests. Travel. All the financial stress. There’s JOY everywhere - but there’s also stress. Exercise reduces stress by releasing "feel good" endorphins. In addition, it provides an outlet to release built-up stress that, if left to its own accord, can often lead to overeating. Get those workouts in to help beat the stress.
